1) My
situation is just like the "classical", but I want the
straps to show when the shutter is open.
There are
"show" hinges available to solve this issue.
2) I have
storm windows installed in the space created
by the window trim, so my shutters can't close there.
We can reverse
the mounting of the hinges so that they
close to the outside of the trim. This will also result in the
straps showing when the shutter is open.
3) Same
as #2, but I don't want the straps to show.
We can use a
short strap or a "show" hinge (reversed).
4) My
windows and trim are aluminum/vinyl/vinyl clad, and
attaching the pintle to them will void the warranty.
(or I just don't have any trim)
This will
require that the pintle attach to the
siding/brick/stucco. In this case, the shutters
may close into the brick or stucco opening,
of for siding, close onto the face of the window or trim.
